This little guy reminds me of SHELBY, he’s just so cute!
I wonder how many other people go into a slump in the heat. This summer has landed me in a big one, I think I need a crane to hoist me out of it. Summer’s all very nice, but I like it better in the mid 70’s (that’s about 23 or 24 Celsius) and not humid. Our air conditioner has produced almost a full pail of water on each of the last two days. What a difference it makes, but it would be such a treat to have a quiet machine!!!
One of these days, we’ll have a place with central air again. We had it in our house, such a luxury compared to a window unit.
I do know I have no right to complain, and that I am actually one of the luckiest people on earth. Shelter, food, and medical care are taken for granted by my kind. I sure wish there was not such disparity in the world. I’m not one to pray, but one can fervently hope for peace, an end to hunger and poverty and a turnaround in the ecology of our planet.
One thing that bothers me is the lack of interest in most people to care about the future. So I ask each one of you to consider using biodegradable plastic bags for garbage, take the train instead of driving to work or carpool, turn off lights, computers and internet connections for the night or when you aren’t using them, always recycle to reduce the landfill, stop using dryers and let the air do the job.
And above all have a good Saturday, and a great long weekend.

Eleanor, I totally agree – we are truly blessed every day by having what we need – just the basics even – running water, housing, food. I am happy to say that I truly do my best to recycle as much as I possibly can and leave little waste on this earth. It’s a concerted effort tho – and it’s an attitude after we are educated about the piles of garbage we leave – I am saddened by the amount of styrofoam packing material big companies use rather than reusable bubble wrap and natural papers – packing peanuts is my biggest pet peeve!! I can only do my part tho and encourage the companies I buy from to use biodegradable packing. Thanks for the reminder

Oh Paula, you say it so much better than me! One great thing I discovered when I bought my purse at Bentley’s was that they have stopped using plastic and give customers a reusable bag. I wish all stores would just stop handing out plastic bags, people would soon remember to bring their own, right?
